San Diego Part Deux

So, here's the rest of the Trip in no particular order.

Here's Suzy in the airport about to get crushed by this giant tidal wave of legos. Yes, those are legos (TM).
This is an Archery Range. Where apparently you can just come shoot your bow and arrow for fun and free, which probably comes in handy for...

These guys. This is a gathering of the Medieval Club. This was their giant Melee where they were all battling each other.

Here's another picture, both taken out of a moving car as we weren't sure what the reaction would be if non Medieval's (Muggles perhaps?) showed up. We'd probably get beaten and placed in stocks or something.

Here was a GQ Squirre, or chipmunk, or some other kind of ground rodent. I'm not the best wildlifian in the world.

So....one of the highlights of the trip was this Sailboat we rented. And Sailed. With little to no training (they did give us the 3 minutes of "This is the Boom, this is the main sail, this is the JibJab sail (I'm sure it was something like that)".  Anyway, They let us take out this boat. What they didn't tell us until after we had successfully made it back in (after only a couple of tries too, at one point we were within 3 feet of the dock and had to turn completely around and make a huge circle to get back since we were headed directly into the wind) was that they make most of their money rescuing people who can't make it back in ($75 a pop).

Here's me, not getting knocked in the head by the "Boom"

Here's Suzy having more fun than humanly possible. At this point she was half Dolphin half Human so that she could have that level of fun.

Here is a selfie picture. Or maybe a bothie? What do you call it when there's two people in the picture?

here's Suzy unfurling the Jib sail so we could really get some speed.

We didn't do the water jet pack, but you could for about $300.

Suzy is a tree hugger. More of a tree lover, this happened to be one of the trees she saw that she fell in love with (they were all over, and apparently in Argentina as well). She said this is some kind of Eucalyptus tree, but I sure didn't see any Koala's so I'm not convinced.

Here was a Pine tree (there we multiples) that Suzy really liked. It looked like a fake tree that someone did in layers, but is real.

I thought this was a fun gathering of seagulls. They all started chanting "Mine, Mine, Mine" at one point.

Suzy bravely climbing down to the shore from the man-made pathway.

There were all these cool tidepools with various types of aquatic life in them.

Another Bothie.

I don't know if you can tell, but there are some Seals in the background. Also, I'm wearing my Micron swag, gotta represent my homies in the hood, you know it. Yo.

More prettiness called flowers and some Seals.

We're not sure why, but apparently having your nose in the air is the thing to do.

I liked this picture.

didn't think much of this one, especially for $17,000.

Nor did I think much of this work of "Art" for only $9,000. We went to a gallery, they had some actual decent stuff. but those pieces were all about $35,000 or more. So, apparently all I can not really afford is trashy art that I could do.

San Diego and Dora

Suzy and I took a trip to San Diego, just us. No kids. It was, quite frankly, awesome.  My parents were in town and took over the kid duties for about 3 days while we went off and played.  We left on Thurs morning and got back Sunday about 2:30pm. The first thing we did was visit a cool old lighthouse.

  Here's the lighthouse.

This is at an old lighthouse.  Here, Suzy is an Espanish Conquistador. And I apparently am a helpless native. Or possibly a Pirate. Aargh. Who apparently has some kind of digital picture taking technology.

They had this cool model of a ship. I'm photobombing it.

Here is cute Suzy in front of this placard that lists a bunch of types of naval ships. At first, I was not too enamored with it...

But then, I started actually seeing some of the ships in the bay. It was pretty cool to actually be able to identify them.

Like this Coast Guard High Endurance Cutter.

2nd view of the Coast Guard Ship.

Suzy having a rocking good time looking off to her left.  At something that I no longer remember because it's been longer than 3 days and my memory of events only lasts 2 days. Case in point, yesterday, Suzy asked me if I threw away the old lamp (I got Suzy a new lamp for her birthday in January).  I said I don't know, maybe. She acted all disappointed and grilled me harder, saying that she wanted the lampshade from the lamp. I freely admitted that it sounded like something I would do. Then she informed me that the lamp was right over there (in our room) and she was just testing me to see if i would remember what I did with the lamp. Depending on the hoped for result, I passed with flying colors.

Here is genuine native wildlife. I didn't step on it.

Here's one of the lamps

here's an older, smaller lamp.

Here's a cool quote that made me appreciate lighthouses.

Here are some massive cliffs in the distance. That bush you see at the front is about 20 feet tall. (Okay, maybe they aren't that massive, but we thought that they could look massive if no one was standing there to give perspective)

Here's a bullet. A rather large bullet.

Here's Suzy ridding the bullet like a horse.

Yee haw

Even more yee hawness

this is Balboa park, and my lovely assistant Suzy is showing the Frisbee we used for throwing in a more tame area of the park. As you can see, this one contained things like Cactus.

More native wildlife if you can believe it! This is a caterpillar.
